fewer or less?
Use fewer with plural countable nouns (fewer people, fewer cars) and less with uncountable nouns (less time, less money). In everyday speech, many people say 'less' for both, but careful writing keeps the rule.
In a sentence
There are fewer people here today than yesterday.
We have less time than I thought.
